Cheap Hotels in London & Rio
After staying at the Center Hotel in Rio I had to prepare for the shuttle bus that would take me from the hotel to the airport with departure for London. Having enjoyed pretty much the spacious double bedroom I had booked over budgetplaces.com at the Center Hotel in Rio de Janeiro for less than €40,- the night, I really wanted to try and get something similar for London. After browsing a short while the extensive range of budget places, a really cheap hotel called London Lodge Hotel had caught my eye. At the moment of booking it was available for just about 50 to 60 Euro per night. Considering the fine neighborhood in which it was located I felt like that was a really good deal regarding London hotels in general. Well, I can only say so much – the London Lodge Hotel was worth every penny. A really comfortable double bed where I could stretch my legs after walking and sightseeing in the city centre for almost 10 hours. What I found extremely handy was the many bus routes (routes C1, 74 & 328) that stopped by directly next to the hotel. And since the tube station close quite early around midnight, the night buses I could pick up at Piccadilly Circus going directly to Earl’s Court area, were really helpful as well. Next time I will change flights in London I am planning to stay a night at the Stay in Soho Guesthouse which was recommended to me by several backpackers I meet on the way. I will report about it after my next travels. Take care and good luck with your accommodation choices
